Why

 My friend at work asked me about Bowie.   He's a musician, and I was excited to have an opportunity to turn him on to the essential stuff.

This is how this website started.

I went into Spotify to make a playlist for him.  And there were all these records that have been released over the last 20 years or so which were the first ones listed.  And they were NOT the essential Bowie records.  

So I realized that people who didn't grow up with some of this stuff, don't have a record store guy to ask about stuff, don't know where to start.

Well buckle up mother fuckers because this is one thing I do know about.  It's been pretty useless in society up till now and probably will continue to be, but in the words of Pam Byrnes's brother in Meet the Parents, "Allow me to hook you up."
